This necklace is not only dedicated to the culture of ancient Rome but features beads from that actual time period of the Roman empire. The pendant is made from authentic Roman glass dating between 400 – 700 CE. These ancient small early glass beads are made from fragments of broken bowls, vessels, etc. excavated in the Middle East, and date between 200 – 500 CE. They have been re-worked into these rustic rondelle shapes in yellow, clear, green and blue colors. Some of the black tube beads (Roman Empire period) have old decorations, dots which are still intact. The other beads are genuine antique turquoise heishi beads from Iran, genuine Baltic amber and old tiny silver metal rondelle beads.
The beads have varying thickness, irregularities, & age encrustations given their age and travels. The handmade fish & hook copper patina toggle clasp is from Mykonos, Greece.
Keep in mind this is an extra long necklace measuring at 43 inches (109.2 cm) long.
