Description

This special wall mounted drinking horn and display is dedicated to the Norse God Ægir. Ægir is the Norse god of the sea and husband of Rán the Norse Goddess of the sea. It is said that Ægir makes the greatest mead across the nine realms of the Yggdrasil and serves it in his great hall of Ægirheim. This large drinking horn has engraved and painted onto it a Stave I created for doing rituals and honoring Ægir which I call Ægirheim. On the bottom is hemp twine coxcombing and the entire exterior of the horn is sealed in a food safe sealer. It holds approximately 28 fluid ounces (828 ml).

The wall mounted display has burned onto it the Vegvísir and an Icelandic Runic inscription that says,”Megi Ægir blessa þennan drykk og heim” which in Icelandic means may Ægir bless this drink and home. There are nine pieces of surf tumbled sea glass from Hawaii to represent the nine realms of the Yggdrasil. Also decorated on it is beach agate from Oregon and sea shells from Florida. Mounting hardware is included.
