This vintage and clearly well used Sea Sense boat oar has been given my personal customizing to make it an excellent piece of home decor for those who have a love of the sea and all things nautical. The entire shaft has been wrapped in coxcombing style with synthetic line and decorated with three Turk’s heads just as you would sea on hand-railing on ships and something I learned to do during my career in the U.S. Coast Guard. Wood burned onto the paddle it says, “Fair Winds and Following Seas”. A well known farewell given to Mariners leaving a ship to go on to new adventures at sea. Also burned onto it is a Seahorse, Manta Ray, Ship’s anchor and nautical star. Decorated on it is Pacific coast driftwood from Washington, sea shells from Florida, sand dollars from Cape Code, Madagascar sea jasper, beach agates from Oregon and sea glass from New Hampshire and Salem, Massachusetts.
The Oar is approximately 59 3/8 inches (150.8 cm) long.
